Resources that all teacher should not be without!

 

1. Newsela     https://newsela.com/

    This is such a great resource for almost any subject. It has news articles  from many different sources as well as quizzes and additional activities to go with each Article. Each article can have the lexile level changed so that it can be used for grades th-12th. This has been such great resource for supplemental activities, so that student can learn about the world around them as well as developing academic and problem solving skills.

 

2. California Environment Initiative      https://www.californiaeei.org/

 This resource provides teachers with lesson plans, labs, student workbooks and so much more. This is free and they will send you all the materials needed. The lessons can also be used in economics and history. I have used many of their different curriculum and the students get really involved! They have curriculum for all grade levels.

 

3. Education Week Teacher   https://www.edweek.org/tm/index.html 

 

This is a great resource for teachers to stay up to date with recent news and happenings in the Education profession. They also have resources for lesson planning and new ideas. This site is more geared to teachers personal and professional knowledge about the community and not so much curriculum. I think that staying up to date and knowledgeable about the profession is very important.
